Application background

It has always been a difficult problem to measure the work piece on a hot rolling production line. The traditional method can’t measure some work piece without direct contact, and the ordinary laser measurement will be interfered by the red light from the high-temperature work piece. Therefore, it is very important to measure the high-temperature work piece without direct contact.

Measurement scheme

Our LDS have been successfully applied in 1580 hot rolled steel production line of Baoshan Iron & Steel Co, Ltd. It realized a high-speed, high-precision, non-contact, absolute-type online measurement of the steel plate’s thickness and convexity, which got a high recognition from customers.

The measuring system has high precision and good repeatability, and can be used in measuring different materials and different surface properties of steel plate. It also has strong anti-interference ability, and is very suitable for the site inspection near the production line. We can also get the ideal data under the environment of high temperature and strong light.
